Resigning

Commitment to Resignation:
Ensure your commitment to leaving is firm. Discuss your career goals, pay raise, or senior role aspirations with your current employer before seeking a new job.

Notice Period and Non-Compete Clauses:
Review your contract to determine your notice period (usually 2-4 weeks) and any non-compete clauses that bind you. Complying with these clauses is crucial to avoid legal issues.

Resignation Letter:
Compose a professional and polite resignation letter, including your notice period and intended end date. You don't need to provide a reason, but you can if you wish, avoiding emotional reasons.

Face-to-Face Meeting:
Arrange a face-to-face meeting with your manager to present your resignation letter. Depending on the situation, you may explain your reasons for leaving or simply state it's time to move on.

Ask for References:
Request references from your manager and relevant individuals. Ideally, obtain a written recommendation detailing your strengths and contributions. Keep in touch with potential referees when job hunting in the future.
