What's a job interview all about?

Employers use an interview to determine who is the best fit for the role they are seeking to fill. If you are searching for a new job, then inevitably you will have to attend an interview at some stage. Interviews can take many forms, and we will explore some of the most common formats in the next section.

What is common to all interview situations is that they are a ‘two way street’. Yes, the interviewer is assessing your suitability for the position, but equally it is an opportunity for you to determine if the role and the organisation are right for you.

So, of course it is only natural to be a little nervous, but remember it really is just a conversation to determine the best outcome for everyone. With good preparation, there is no reason why you can’t enjoy the interview experience!
