What's up dog?
Nemesis by name but definitely not by nature! Nemesis has become the mascot for my business Akheron Working Dogs and is a favourite for many of my clients for her beautiful temperament, friendly nature and hilarious antics. Despite having hip dysplasia, she is the happiest dog youll ever meet. She works cattle, sheep, and goats on our property daily with her natural talent and training making the movement and handling of the livestock easier and safer for everyone involved. Nemesis also acts as a demo dog and helper for training clients and their dogs for herding livestock to build their knowledge, skills, and confidence. She comfortably goes straight to work the stock even with a dog/s and dog owners shes never met before. She is also crucial for behaviour modification where she is a calm, neutral dog when working with dogs with dog reactivity issues by helping them change their mindset to become a happier, calmer dog and for their owner to learn about their dog mindset and body language to improve their mindset and handling skills. Her natural ability to read other dogs helps with socialising pups and dogs to educate about appropriate dog to dog interactions. She helps shy dogs build their confidence and learn to play and then teaches pushy dogs to relax and diffuse conflict. Even with hip dysplasia, Nemesis shows people what Kelpies and other working breeds are capable of, and how we can help owners achieve their training goals whether its with herding training, behaviour modification or socialisation. She brings endless joy to me, my family and clients with her boundless joy, energy and goofiness. With her funny antics, friendly nature and working ability, Nemesis brings joy to many clients. She brings also hope to many clients struggling with their dogs to be able to improve their lives together. Many of my clients have experienced their dog being attacked by another dog in the past or had other trainers refuse to help their dogs. Nemesis has helped with many assessments of these dogs to determine how we can help them with their training while also having a positive experience with another dog. She also helps dogs for herding training by building their confidence and helping to encourage them to give it a try. The owners are always overjoyed to see their dogs come out of their shell and switch on to work.
