What's up dog?
Darcy works in a veterinary clinic. Her morning starts by greeting all the lovely staff with a wagging tail, sniff and fist (paw) pump. When people come in she rings a bell to let the staff out the back know someone is waiting. Sometimes, when other dogs come in to the vets, they are a little bit scared of the scales. Darcy's Human says she understands, because she is scared of them too, but Darcy is not and helps show other dogs how to sit on the scales to be weighed. One of Darcy's favourite things to do is play quoits. When kids come to visit, she asks them to throw the quoits, she gets them and puts them back on the stick. She also picks up the pens that get dropped and gives them back the the person who dropped it. Sometimes it can be really sad at the vets, when people have to say goodbye to their beloved pet. Darcy is a great support, she just sits next to whoever needs support and a cuddle to help get through a really difficult time. We hen Darcy isn't at work she volunteers at the local library, and listens to children read. The other favourite pastime is training her human to run around after her while she does agility. The people watching us do this are always surprised at the dachshund doing agility, and comment how fast and clever she is!
