What's up dog?
I wish this could be a photo compilation of 'Dixie's lessons for the workplace'. Dixie manages to leave everyone better than she found them and anyone that's worked with her can't imagine a working week without her making an appearance.
Dixie's Work Rule No.1 - Regular breaks We've all been there, we're sat at home with some big deadlines, emails pinging and the phoning going and before you know it you haven't moved from your desk for 6 hours. Your back hurts and you've got a mild headache from the lack of water. Dixie makes sure that when I'm working from home or she's working from home with friends (I have 2 friends that like to borrow her for WFH days) that we all take regular breaks. Popping over to your desk with a toy as a reminder or just a head in your lap with some big puppy dog eyes that say 'break time, pay me attention'. I've always been crap at taking breaks and got even worse during Covid so having Dixie actually means I get up from my desk regularly, take breaks and get a lunchtime walk in.
Dixie's Work Rule No.2 - Fun should be prioritised Dixie priority in life is to have fun, she'll make any situation fun. Windy day - great, let's chase some leaves. Toilet rolls run out - not a problem that cardboard roll is now the best toy you could ever make. If you are ever having a bad day or feeling frustrated at work then Dixie's going to solve that for you. She'll find the tiniest thing and make it into a fun game. She'll make sure you smile at least once a day with her shenanigans.
Dixie's Work Rule No.3 - Snacks are mandatory We all know one of the best things about being in an office is the office snacks. Dixie likes her snacks breaks on the regular so kitchen visits are required every 2 hours.
Dixie's Work Rule No.4. - Everyone is equal
Dixie is a 20kg mixed rescue pup but she will greet a 4kg Chihuahua with the same level of enthusiasm as a 70kg St Bernard. You'll get the same amount of love no matter who you are, what size you are or how you look. This has 100% got her into trouble on more than one occasion but I think the sentiment still stands.
