Diogenes
Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois
Barking from: Lithgow, NSW
What's up dog?
Having Diogenes in my world has been lifechanging. I got him as a pup with the intention of training him as a personal and property protection dog. We started this training but my health took a turn and I became limited physically by what I could do with him. As a Belgian Malinois, he still needed the stimulation as he's a super high-drive dog, but I did not want to have to re-home him, so we switched his training over to nosework and he has just flourished. Diogenes (Dodge) is still a pet, companion and best friend but the nosework keeps him entertained and exercised, without a huge physical toll on my body as I recover from illnesses. I have owned dogs my whole life, and never been without at least one canine companion, but Dodge is my special one. I'm convinced having him around is helping me get better.
