You will be responsible for the end-to-end policy process, from initial analysis and research through to developing innovative options and advising on implementation strategies.
Your key contributions will involve:
- Leading and contributing to the development of strategic policy advice on complex issues.
- Preparing and presenting high-level documents, including cabinet papers and ministerial briefings.
- Managing policy projects, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within scope.
- Engaging and collaborating with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure policy is practical and effective.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in a policy development role within the New Zealand public sector.
- A proven ability to analyse complex issues, develop evidence-based options, and provide robust policy recommendations.
- Experience in preparing and contributing to cabinet papers, ministerial correspondence, and select committee reports.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage projects from conception to completion.
- Excellent relationship management skills, with a track record of effective consultation and collaboration.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas with clarity and precision.
