The role
Reporting to the Chief Financial and Risk Officer, the Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Prepare accurate month-end and year-end financial reports as well as ensuring compliance with statutory obligations including BAS and FBT
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning across the organisation
- Maintain and enhance financial systems and processes to improve automation, efficiency, and compliance
- Oversee investment portfolio accounting and liaise with advisors to ensure accurate reporting
- Provide governance and risk management support, including Board reporting and Insurance Program renewal coordination
- Contribute to cross-functional projects such as Integrated Reporting, Carbon Accounting, and policy development
- Manage end to end payroll processing for 65 employees across both a fortnightly and monthly pay cycle
- Supervise the part time Accounts Payable Officer and act as a key finance contact across departments, offering insights and support on financial and operational matters

You will have
- Membership of a recognised professional accounting body including CPA or CA
- Demonstrated experience across the full accounting cycle – including financial reporting, statutory compliance, budgeting and forecasting, and reconciliations of high-volume and complex financial data
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information, identify risks or inefficiencies, and recommend sustainable solutions
- Proven ability to set priorities and work within timeframes and deadlines
- High proficiency in excel, must be confident using pivot tables and vlookups
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills, with proven success in collaborating across teams
