This is a senior advisory role with a focus on ministerial appointments and governance. You’ll support Cabinet and APH processes, engage directly with board chairs, ministers, and the Public Service Commission, and provide high-level strategic policy advice. Some positions may also involve monitoring Crown entities, including developing performance measures, audit frameworks, and risk models.

You’ll be an experienced policy professional with a strong background in analysis and strategic policy development. You’ve advised ministers and are confident operating at the interface between government, boards, and senior stakeholders.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- Proven experience in providing high-quality strategic policy advice
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate complex issues into clear recommendations
- Knowledge of Cabinet and ministerial processes (APH, appointments)
- Understanding of legislation, regulatory frameworks, or public sector funding
- Experience gained within a government ministry or Crown entity in New Zealand, Australia, or the UK
