We are currently partnering with a well established boutique law firm based in West Perth. This team foster a collaborative and supportive culture. The firm practice across areas including insurance litigation, commercial law and local government providing interesting and varied work.
The Role
This is a permanent opportunity and we are open to exploring the potential of full-time or a 3 or 4-day working week for the right experienced candidate.
The position will see you providing support to the Insurance Litigation team supporting 1 Partner alongside 2 Paralegals with duties including:
• Document production: a function of the role will involve formatting legal documents and letters with the use of templates and drafting basic letters
• Client relations: meeting and greeting clients, liaising with lawyers, stakeholders and third parties via telephone and email
• Calendar management: diary & travel management, tracking events and deadlines
• Task management: updating task lists and tracking deadlines
• Preparing court documents: collate documents and ensure briefs are prepared efficiently
• Billing: end of month billing
• File management: saving documents from eCourts Portal and WorkCover
• Typing: dictation and transcription
• Paralegal duties: experienced paralegal candidates would undertake paralegal responsibilities such as preparing letters of advice, pleadings and witness statements, assist with running files, legal research and recording time
• General administration tasks: scanning, printing, filing, mail management, office inventory along with front of house duties
The Candidate
• This role is best suited to applicants who plan to pursue a career in legal support as either a Legal Assistant or Paralegal
• Experience working as a Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary/Paralegal in a plaintiff or defendant insurance law firm
• High level of attention to detail, proactive nature and strong organisational skills
