Compliance & Internal Audit Officer

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Legal & Compliance team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the Head of Legal & Compliance and the Compliance Manager to identify, assess, and manage risk across our Australian operations. You’ll help ensure we meet regulatory obligations and uphold internal standards, contributing to a culture of compliance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Risk Identification & Assessment – Assist in pinpointing financial, legal, operational, and strategic risks, and help develop risk assessment tools such as risk maps.
  • Risk Mitigation & Controls – Collaborate with internal departments to design and implement effective controls that address identified risks.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Reporting – Stay informed of evolving regulatory requirements and work with compliance teams to update internal policies accordingly.
  • Business Continuity & Crisis Management – Contribute to the development and maintenance of business continuity and crisis response plans.
  • Training & Awareness – Support initiatives to foster a strong compliance culture, and provide guidance to business leaders on risk-informed decisions.
  • Internal Investigations – Conduct investigations into potential breaches of compliance or legal policy, ensuring thorough and objective assessments.
  • HR Collaboration – Partner with HR to provide informed recommendations on any required disciplinary actions following investigation outcomes.
About You
  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting, or a related discipline (or currently studying towards completion).
  • Legal qualification (completed or in progress) is advantageous, though not essential.
  • Strong sense of initiative, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a passion for governance and compliance.
