Purpose:
In this role you will direct and oversee the business services team in line with the agreed business plans and budget. You will maintain a clear pathway to project completion and ensure efficient and productive process of services in accordance with ICAA standards and other legislative requirements.

- Oversee the production process, developing and monitoring team schedules to meet delivery targets and deadlines.
- Ensure that the production and service method to the client is cost effective and delivered at the agreed quality standard.
- Develop the KPI’s for the team. I.e. charge-out rates, utilisation, absenteeism, actual cost.
- Management of workflow and decision making in-line with adjusting schedules based on client priorities and resource management to resolve service conflicts.
- Collaborate with other managers to implement the firms’ policies, procedures and objectives.
- Supervise, motivate and provide goal development across the team.
- Analyse succession planning for critical roles within the team.
- Review performance with respect to job classifications and upskilling and additional training.
- Management of training calendar, inclusive of team CPD hours.
- Assist Leadership team in the preparation of Client Engagements and onboarding of new clients.

- Lead key projects around service line improvements or creation to add further value to our clients.
- Achieve efficiencies in workflow and team output whilst maintaining quality standards.
- Drive advisory program within the firm
- Engage in Business Development activities to grow the firm’s client base
- Build and maintain client relationships
- Prepare statutory financial statements and tax returns for group entities including trusts, companies, partnerships and related entities
- Preparation of tax returns, business activity statements and instalment activity statements for companies and their related entities
- Preparation of other statutory returns including fringe benefits tax, payroll tax and land tax
- Identify, research, and resolve issues associated with client work
- Undertaking taxation services including researching and concluding tax issues, verifying client’s financial results and analysis of income and expenditure
- Respond to client queries and provide tax planning advice and value-add advisory to clients
- Assistance with basic tax compliance procedures
- Preparation of management reports
- Regular client meetings with the Manager/s and/or Partner/s
- Complete ad-hoc project work as required
- Oversee junior team members, delegate and review work where necessary
Qualifications & Experience
- Completed CA or CPA program.
- Proficient with Xero
- Well-developed and proven leadership and management skills with ability to stimulate a high level of performance within a team environment.
- An ability to identify and develop new ideas, analyse alternative courses of action and their implications, and a capacity to develop action plans and advance new approaches.
- Ability to think flexibly, innovatively and creatively and to work autonomously.
- Completion of CA or CPA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience in accounting, business advisory, strategy and managing a portfolio of clients
- Sound working experience with foundational compliance and tax work
