Bookkeeper – Boutique Advisory Firm | Hybrid Role | No Timesheets

About the Firm:
People2people is partnering with a boutique financial services and advisory firm that combines accounting, financial planning, property investment, lending, and estate planning under one roof.
This role could either be based in their brand-new Brisbane CBD office or the Head office on the Gold Coast. This is a multi-faceted firm dedicated to helping clients design financial pathways that give them freedom and choice — a forward-thinking team that values outcomes, not hours.
The Role:
This isn’t your standard compliance-only bookkeeping role.
You’ll be working closely with the Director and a team of accountants to support SME clients across a range of industries while gaining exposure to business advisory and strategic work.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are properly recorded in Xero
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Prepare and lodge monthly and quarterly BAS and ensure full ATO compliance
- Process payroll (superannuation, PAYG, leave entitlements)
- Monitor cash flow and highlight variances or trends
- Liaise directly with clients and internal teams to streamline reporting and automation
- Proven experience in public practice or business services bookkeeping
- Skilled in Xero, MYOB, and Microsoft Office
- Solid understanding of BAS, payroll, and reconciliations
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, client-facing experience
- Organised, accurate, and comfortable managing multiple clients independently
- No timesheets – productivity and trust are what matter
- Hybrid work – Brisbane CBD/ Gold Coast base + 2 days WFH
