Business Services Assistant Manager/ New Manager – Flexible Firm with Strong Values
This well-established accounting firm, with a close-knit, family feel, has recently undergone a successful merger and is now seeking a confident and capable Assistant Manager or Business Services Manager to join their growing team.
Known for looking after both their people and their clients, this firm offers a collaborative work environment, flexible arrangements, and a long-standing client base made up of SMEs, family groups, and high-net-worth individuals. Experience in primary production and agribusiness would be highly advantageous for this specific team.
The Opportunity
- This is a rare chance to step into a leadership role that offers autonomy from day one. You’ll take over an existing portfolio and team, with the support of senior leadership and access to well-established systems and processes.
- Manage client relationships across business advisory, tax compliance, and financial reporting
- Review work prepared by team members and provide coaching and guidance
- Manage workflows and productivity across a small team
- Contribute to internal process improvements and team development
- Provide technical input on complex issues and support special projects as required
- Strong team culture – down-to-earth, collaborative, and genuinely supportive
- Flexible work arrangements – including WFH days when needed
- Minimal hand-holding – suited to someone who can hit the ground running
- Long staff tenure – from Senior Accountant to Director level, many have been with the firm for 4+ years
- Opportunities to contribute to firm-wide initiatives and continuous improvement
- CA or CPA qualified
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Business Services within public practice
- Previous leadership experience (formal or informal)
- Strong communication skills and confidence in managing client relationships
- Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, APS, or Class (desirable)
