The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate (or Special Counsel) to join the Corporate team in Sydney. Working closely with a highly experienced partner, the successful candidate will advise on a wide range of matters, including:
- Public and private M&A transactions;
- Corporate advisory and governance matters;
- Equity and debt capital markets;
- Joint ventures and restructures;
- Complex commercial contracts and legal due diligence;
- Cross-practice collaboration with other specialist teams within the firm.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- 4+ years’ PAE, with solid experience in corporate/M&A transactions;
- A strong academic record (no fails, ideally with mostly distinctions);
- Experience gained in a mid-tier or top-tier firm (preference given to candidates outside of boutique environments);
- Strong technical skills in contract drafting, corporate structuring, and transactional project management;
- Demonstrated ability to manage matters autonomously, while also mentoring juniors and contributing to a collegiate team environment;
- Confidence in client-facing work, with a commercial mindset and solution-focused approach;
- A collaborative attitude and desire to grow within a high-performing team.
