#Instafamous

Well, it’s a new year and it’s time for everyone to start settling back into work and rebuilding themselves. There are new goals, new targets and new attitudes! My big focus at the moment is marketing and how I can be the most effective I can be.

I recently saw a video on LinkedIn discussing how a very large well-known company fell into chaos and eventually failed, due to its lack of innovation and its refusal to move its marketing online.

There were a lot of other keys factors but one of the biggest which contributed to this business’ downfall was the fact the fact that they wouldn’t ( or maybe couldn’t) undertake an online marketing campaign using a website or social media platform. This really put me on notice and the reason why I aim to make the people2people’s Managed Services’ division boom in 2019.

I’m setting targets on how many people I want to reach, how many more followers I can generate each month and the strategic direction of where our message should go. I want to be able to showcase Managed Services’ job opportunities to available talent and show how we operate to the Line Managers with whom we work.

I acknowledge the huge impact technology has on our society, both positively and negatively, but I would be naive to think that this is not the key in targeting our audience. Everyone has their heads down in their phones, so that is where you need to be to show off your products and services. Facebook does remain the most popular social media platform but Instagram is catching up fast, with almost 800 million active users and around 500 million active users, daily.

So why not apply this platform to help brand and market you and your business?

People want to follow their interests, which are relatable and interesting to them as individuals, so when developing content, you need to think about what is going to make someone enjoy what they are scrolling through and keeping them coming back for more. ‘Likes’ generate exposure, which in turn can help generate business. Ways of doing this is a bit like LinkedIn – have a ‘meet the team’ campaign. Post photos of different people in your office and find out different facts about not only their working lives, but their personal lives (with their permission of course) as well. This is what people can relate to and what will assist in boosting your Instagram status.

It may also sound cheesy, but do some research before you throw things up on your Instagram. Things to look into are what times people are most active on social media, such as Tuesdays between at 3:00 pm and 9:00 pm; Wednesdays between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm, Thursdays between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm and Fridays between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.

Through in a few hashtags per post and keep them relevant. Don’t be afraid to step outside the box and apply hashtags to the city in which you live and work and other key interests which will help generate your name in results, when hashtags are searched. Also get active on your instastories daily. If you are only on social media once every couple of days, it’s pointless. You need to make daily commitments to Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter for social media branding to be truly effective. It does take time but the results can be really worth it. #microphonedrop

Job displacement AI automation can make certain job roles redundant, leading to unemployment and necessitating new skill acquisition.
