What's up dog?
Reginald The Four-Legged Freefall Therapist At our skydiving drop zone, the adrenaline runs highbut so does the joy, thanks to our unofficial mascot and emotional support pup, Reginald.
I am an Operations Supervisor and my partner is a Tandem Instructor and were lucky to work in a dog-friendly environment where Reginald joins us every day. Hes become a beloved fixture at the hangar, offering tail wags and calming cuddles to nervous first-time jumpers and seasoned skydivers alike. Greeting customers before their big leap, Reginald sets the tone with his warm energy and gentle presence. For many, that reassuring pat on his head is just what they need before boarding the plane.
But Reginalds job doesnt end therehe eagerly watches the sky, tracking parachutes as they bloom above, and is always first on the landing field to welcome jumpers back to earth. The joy on their faces when theyre met by a wagging tail is unbeatable. Whether its easing nerves pre-jump or helping celebrate the post-skydive high, Reginald makes every moment a little brighter.
Hes more than a pethes part of the team, a morale booster, and a reminder to stay grounded (even when were 15,000 feet up). While most office dogs snooze under desks or chase tennis balls, our puppy Reggie has taken paws-on experience to new heightsliterally. Reggie works at a skydive Dropzone, where the roar of planes and the rush of freefall are just part of the daily vibe. From the moment jumpers arrive, Reggie greets them with tail wags and a calming cuddle before their adrenaline-fueled leap. Hes our four-pawed morale booster, weather mascot, and snack monitor (especially if you leave a sandwich unattended). But what truly sets Reggie apart? Hes not just at the Dropzonehes part of the crew. He waits by the landing area to welcome jumpers back with unconditional excitement, and hes been known to œassist in packing parachutes.
