What's up dog?

I was mentally drained, suffered with anxiety and depression, then I found Dexter at 3 months old. Ive never had a puppy before, but the immediate impact Dex has had is phenomenal. He literally goes everywhere with me. He helps me keep calm in anxious moments. When he isnt cruising on the motorbike with his helmet and goggles, he will sit on my shoulder while I go shopping and do my day-to-day activities. He lets me know when we need a break, and a few of the local cafes know his puppuccino order off by heart. Its been 20 years since Ive had a dog, and now Dexters 6 months old. I cant imagine my life without him, and the amount of people he makes smile daily is awesome.

After 9 weeks and over 200 entries, the search is over. people2people, in partnership with Dogs Connect, is proud to have presented the 2025 Australia Top Dog.

On behalf of the entire OZTOPDOG team, thank you to everyone who entered and helped make our 5th edition such a tremendous success. The last few months have been about celebrating our furry best friends and shedding some light on their paw-some work. While each entry was uniquely different, the one thing they all had in common was that having your tail-wagging pal around had helped improve your mental health.
