About the role
This role offers a unique hybrid opportunity tailored for professionals seeking to merge operational payroll expertise with strategic HR and rewards initiatives. Initially structured as a contract focused on stabilising payroll operations, the position provides a clear pathway to permanent employment with expanded responsibilities in remuneration, benefits, and HR partnering.
Key responsibilities
  • Manage standalone, outsourced payroll for 450 employees
  • Optimise UKG/Kronos and One View systems for payroll processing
  • Conduct payroll reconciliations, reporting, and ensure audit readiness
  • Maintain payroll calendars and ensure compliance with legislation
  • Collaborate with Finance to uphold controls and data integrity
  • Identify and implement process improvements in payroll operations
  • Lead annual and ad-hoc remuneration review cycles
  • Conduct benchmarking and provide insights to leadership
  • Manage and enhance employee benefits and recognition programs
  • Support HR operations and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Deliver data-driven insights on payroll and workforce trends
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across HR and Finance
Skills & experience
  • Proven experience in payroll, remuneration, or rewards with 5+ years in the field
  • Strong capability in end-to-end payroll processes within complex environments
  • Demonstrated ability to utilise UKG/Kronos systems effectively
  • Solid understanding of payroll legislation and governance
  • Experience in remuneration reviews, benefits, or HR analytics is highly regarded
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • High attention to detail with a focus on process improvement
