We are looking for a Senior Project Officer who has operated inside government systems and understands how to navigate complexity, scrutiny and risk and will play a pivotal role in managing projects related to public inquiries and media engagement.
The role
You will sit within a small Communications & Engagement team, leading the delivery of high-profile communications and public affairs projects.
- Leading end-to-end delivery of communications projects, campaigns and major events
- Managing media and public enquiries with a high level of judgement and accuracy
- Developing communication materials including media releases, speeches, reports and digital content
- Providing advice on emerging issues, risks and reputational considerations
- Supporting strategic engagement initiatives and organisational positioning
We are looking for
- Experience in NSW Government, or similarly complex public sector environments
- Exposure to agencies with high public scrutiny such as ICAC, NSW Police, or equivalent
- Strong political awareness
- Experience handling media enquiries and public-facing communications under pressure
- Exceptional written skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate and defensible content quickly
- High attention to detail and a strong understanding of confidentiality requirements
