About the role
The Senior Bookkeeper / Senior Accountant will assume responsibility for the finance function, with a particular emphasis on trust accounting and managing multiple entities. This role has emerged due to the retirement of a long-standing Finance Manager, offering a chance to contribute to a stable environment and take ownership of established processes.
Key responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end bookkeeping within a legal context
- Oversee trust accounting management and compliance
- Handle full function Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Process payroll across multiple entities
- Manage financials across various entities and cost centres
- Conduct invoicing, payments, reconciliations, and query management
- Liaise with barristers and internal stakeholders
- Facilitate handover from the outgoing Finance Manager
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Skills & experience
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting for a minimum of 5 years
- Strong capability in legal trust accounting management
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple entities autonomously
- Effective communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with Reckon Accounts and familiarity with FilePro transitioning to Actionstep is desirable
