The Role
  • Sydney based Senior Associate role within a labour, employment and workplace safety team
  • Advising on advisory, transactional and contentious employment matters
  • Acting on complex industrial relations disputes and employment litigation
  • Representing employers in unfair dismissal, discrimination and general protections claims
  • Drafting and negotiating employment contracts, executive arrangements and workplace policies
  • Advising on compliance, risk management and workforce strategy
  • Litigating matters in State and Federal courts, tribunals and commissions
  • Assisting with urgent applications including injunctive relief
  • Advising on employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions, restructures and business transformation
  • Supporting workplace health and safety investigations and site based matters
  • Delivering training programs and contributing to client development initiatives
  • Working both collaboratively and autonomously on matters
The Candidate
  • Admitted lawyer with approximately 5-8 years post admission experience
  • Strong background in employment law, industrial relations and workplace safety
  • Experience across both front end advisory and contentious employment matters
  • Trained at a well regarded firm with strong technical capability
  • Commercially minded with a practical approach to problem solving
  • Confident dealing directly with clients and managing sensitive matters
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage urgent and competing deadlines
  • Team oriented and committed to mentoring and collaboration
