We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper to join a well-established boutique accounting and advisory firm located in the St George region.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a genuine long-term career move within a smaller, highly respected firm where your contribution will be recognised and valued. Working closely with the Director, you will play a key role in managing a portfolio of clients across accounting, compliance, bookkeeping, payroll, and advisory services.
The role offers strong client interaction, autonomy, and genuine progression opportunities, including a future pathway to leadership and partnership for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of business clients across a range of industries
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Preparation of financial statements and supporting workpapers
  • Preparation and lodgements of BAS, IAS, payroll tax, and superannuation obligations
  • Assist with tax compliance for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals
  • End-to-end bookkeeping including payroll, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and cash flow management
  • Prepare management reports and assist clients with budgeting and financial analysis
  • Support process improvements and workflow management
  • Mentor and support junior team members where required
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience within a public practice or accounting firm environment
  • Strong technical accounting and bookkeeping capability
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple deadlines
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Experience using Xero and advanced Excel
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline preferred
  • CA or CPA qualified, or currently studying, highly regarded
