An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a highly successful private investment office managing a diverse and sophisticated portfolio of investments. This is a rare opportunity to work in a small, professional environment where you will play a key role in financial and investment reporting.
You will take ownership of investment accounting and financial reporting across a broad range of asset classes.
The opportunity
This role will suit an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a hands-on environment, values accuracy and discretion, and is looking for a long-term position.
Key responsibilities
- Preparation of weekly and monthly financial and investment reporting
- Investment accounting across a diverse portfolio including listed equities, managed funds, fixed income investments, private equity, private debt and property investments
- Intercompany reconciliations across multiple entities
- Preparation of annual tax journals and quarterly GST reporting
- Assistance with tax reporting and annual tax return processes
- Maintenance and enhancement of reporting models and templates in Excel
- Liaising with external stakeholders including financial institutions, advisers and service providers
To be successful, you will possess
- Proven experience within investment accounting, trust accounting, private wealth, funds management, superannuation or a related environment
- Strong financial reporting and reconciliation experience
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- A high level of professionalism, confidentiality and integrity
- Experience working within a small team environment where you can operate autonomously and take ownership of responsibilities
