Rewards and People Services Business Partner

The Opportunity

We’re partnering with an FMCG business offering a unique hybrid opportunity designed to suit candidates who enjoy both operational payroll and strategic HR and rewards work.

This role is structured as:

  • Initial contract phase with a payroll-heavy focus to stabilise and optimise operations

  • Clear pathway to a permanent role with a broader remit across remuneration, benefits and HR partnering

This is ideal for someone who wants to step up from payroll into a more strategic HR and rewards career path.

Phase 1: Payroll Operations (Contract Focus)

You will initially take ownership of payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance and process improvement.

  • Standalone outsourced payroll with 450 employees on payroll

  • Manage and optimise UKG/Kronos and One View systems

  • Payroll reconciliations, reporting and audit readiness

  • Maintain payroll calendars and ensure legislative compliance

  • Partner closely with Finance on controls, governance and data integrity

  • Identify and implement process improvements across payroll operations

Phase 2: Total Rewards & HR (Permanent Pathway)

Depending on your interests and capabilities, the role has scope to expand into a broader HR and rewards function.

  • Lead remuneration review cycles, both annual and ad hoc

  • Conduct benchmarking and provide insights to leadership

  • Manage and enhance employee benefits and recognition programs

  • Support HR operations and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Deliver data-driven insights across payroll, rewards and workforce trends

  • Partner with senior stakeholders across HR and Finance

About You

We’re looking for someone who can own payroll from day one but is motivated to grow into a strategic HR and rewards role.

  • 5+ years’ experience in payroll, remuneration or rewards

  • Strong end-to-end payroll expertise in complex environments

  • Experience with UKG/Kronos is essential

  • Solid understanding of payroll legislation and governance

  • Exposure to remuneration reviews, benefits or HR analytics is highly regarded

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

  • High attention to detail with a process improvement mindset

Why This Role?

  • Clear temp-to-perm pathway, not just a contract

  • Opportunity to transition from payroll into strategic HR and rewards

  • Join a high-growth, globally recognised FMCG business

  • Work in a collaborative, high-performing environment

  • Real ownership and visibility across HR and Finance

  • 1 day work from home
