Principal Service Development Manager

We are working with a large, nationally significant organisation responsible for improving how essential public services are designed, funded and delivered across communities. Working closely with providers, sector leaders and stakeholders, they focus on driving better access, stronger outcomes and long-term system improvements.

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
This senior contracting role sits within a team responsible for shaping and delivering service improvements across community and primary healthcare programmes.
You’ll step into a fast-moving environment where experienced professionals can quickly make an impact. Working across complex portfolios, you will help design service models, contribute to funding and investment planning, and lead initiatives that improve access and outcomes.
Projects may span areas such as general practice programmes, long-term conditions initiatives, pharmacy services and wider community health programmes.
This is an opportunity to work on initiatives that influence how services are delivered at scale while collaborating with senior stakeholders across the sector.

You’re comfortable operating in complex environments and stepping into projects with minimal onboarding. You bring strong stakeholder engagement, strategic thinking and the ability to turn ideas into practical delivery.

  • Experience leading complex service or programme initiatives
  • Strong project management and delivery capability
  • Experience working with health providers or community-based services
  • Ability to develop project plans and manage stakeholder engagement
  • Experience navigating complex organisational or regulated environments
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
