An opportunity is available for an experienced HR generalist to join a large, values‑driven public sector education provider as a People Services Advisor.
This role sits within the People, Culture & Safety team and supports a diverse portfolio of stakeholders by delivering timely, practical, and compliant HR advice across the full employee lifecycle.
About the role
As the People Services Advisor, you will manage a small client portfolio and provide end‑to‑end HR support, partnering closely with managers and employees in a fast‑paced and service‑oriented environment.
- Providing HR generalist advice across recruitment, onboarding, probation, employment conditions, performance matters and exits
- Supporting workforce planning activities and operational people initiatives
- Coordinating recruitment, contracts, employment variations and onboarding processes
- Identifying and escalating complex matters such as grievances, WorkCover, OHS and misconduct to specialist teams
- Maintaining accurate people data and ensuring HR system integrity
- Providing HR reporting, advice and support to enable data‑informed decision‑making
- Supporting managers and employees with HR systems, tools and policies
- Working collaboratively within the People, Culture & Safety team to deliver high‑quality services aligned to service charter standards
About you
You are a proactive and customer‑focused HR professional who enjoys working in a generalist role and supporting a wide range of stakeholders.

- Demonstrated experience providing operational HR advice and support in a complex environment
- Strong customer service mindset and ability to manage competing priorities
- Solid understanding of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding and probation
- Strong attention to detail and experience working with HR systems and data
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative working style and the ability to build strong relationships across the business
- Relevant HR experience and/or qualifications (tertiary qualification desirable)
Experience using CHRIS21 HRIS or similar systems will be highly regarded.
