About the Role

Working within a supportive payroll and finance team, you’ll take responsibility for end-to-end payroll processing across a large, diverse employee base. You’ll be the go-to person for all payroll-related queries, ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time while keeping the organisation compliant with all relevant legislation. Your responsibilities will include:
• Processing weekly and fortnightly payroll cycles for a mix of casual, part-time and full-time employees
• Interpreting and applying conditions from modern awards and enterprise agreements, including multiple allowances
• Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring compliance with payroll legislation
• Providing timely support to employees with payroll questions
• Producing monthly payroll reports
• Managing statutory payroll obligations including PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation, workers compensation and other reporting
• Completing payroll reconciliations and ensuring data accuracy
• Identifying opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency

About You

You’re someone who enjoys getting payroll right the first time, takes pride in accuracy, and communicates confidently with employees at all levels. To succeed in this position, you will bring:
• Experience processing payroll for casual shift workers with varied allowances
• Exposure to the Building and Construction Award (highly desirable)
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and award interpretation
• Confidence using payroll systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• High attention to detail and solid problem-solving skills
• A collaborative attitude and clear communication skills
• Availability to work standard office hours (8:30am – 5:00pm)
