A leading national law firm with a strong foothold in the Canberra market. The Role
The firm is seeking a Lawyer or Associate (1-5yrs PAE) to join its Real Estate and Construction team, with a focus on the development side. The successful candidate will work closely with senior partners on a broad range of property and development matters, including:
• Advising on property acquisition and disposal transactions
• Acting on residential, mixed‑use, commercial, and industrial development projects
• Drafting and negotiating development agreements, project delivery agreements, and construction‑related documentation
• Managing major leasing transactions
• Advising on off‑the‑plan sales, planning considerations, and property‑related finance
• Supporting client relationships, contributing to business development, and assisting with strategic legal advisory work
The role offers exposure to complex, high‑value projects and a practice that integrates real estate, construction, and planning expertise.

The Candidate
The firm is open to applicants from 1-5 PAE, with developed skills in property, development, and construction work. To be competitive for this role, the candidate should demonstrate:
• Experience across a variety of property transactions, including commercial, residential, and off‑the‑plan matters
• Strong drafting, communication, and client engagement capability
• The ability to manage competing priorities in a team‑driven environment
• Curiosity about client industries and the broader development sector
• A proactive mindset and a solutions‑focused approach
• The ability to build strong internal and external relationships
