IT Officer

We are working alongside a values‑led higher education provider to appoint an IT Officer who will play a key role in delivering responsive, user‑focused IT support across the organisation.
About the Role
Reporting to the IT Manager, this Level 1/Level 2 role serves as the first point of contact for IT support and is responsible for delivering day‑to‑day IT services across hardware, software, applications, and systems. The position is hands‑on and service‑focused, supporting onboarding, user access, troubleshooting, system optimisation, and IT security within a regulated higher education environment.
- Providing Service Desk support to staff and students, resolving IT issues and enquiries
- Setting up and maintaining user accounts, logins, licences, and devices
- Supporting Microsoft 365 and core business systems
- Assisting with application implementation, integrations, and vendor coordination
- Monitoring system performance, applying updates, and maintaining documentation
- Supporting network security, backups, disaster recovery, and cyber awareness
- Delivering IT inductions and training for new staff and students

About You
You will bring: Full working rights
- A tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or similar
- At least 3 years’ experience in an IT support or service delivery role
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and user systems
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and managing user access
- The ability to communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical users
- A customer‑service mindset with strong attention to detail
- Alignment with Christian values and a collaborative working approach
- Higher education experience (or similar regulated environments) highly regarded
