We are partnering exclusively with a highly regarded organisation to recruit a Health, Safety & Environment Manager into a newly created role with significant visibility, autonomy and long-term scope. Working across a diverse national portfolio, you will have the opportunity to shape HSE strategy while remaining hands-on and connected to operations.

About the Role
This is a newly created, national role offering the opportunity to take ownership of HSE across a diverse portfolio of office, retail and industrial assets. Reporting into senior Asset Management leadership and partnering closely with People & Culture, you will be responsible for strengthening HSE systems, governance and processes while driving a proactive safety culture across the portfolio. You’ll work with stakeholders nationally, including internal teams, clients, contractors and tenants. This is not a role for someone who wants to operate purely at a strategic level. You’ll be visible across the portfolio, regularly visiting sites, engaging with operational teams and helping turn HSE strategy into practical, effective outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include
- Developing, implementing and continuously improving HSE systems, policies and procedures
- Leading workplace risk assessments, hazard identification and mitigation strategies
- Conducting site inspections, audits, assurance activities and compliance reviews
- Managing incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions and HSE reporting
- Maintaining systems aligned with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Overseeing contractor HSE requirements, onboarding and ongoing compliance
- Monitoring environmental risks and supporting sustainable operational practices
- Delivering HSE training, toolbox talks and safety awareness initiatives
- Monitoring legislative changes and ensuring processes remain compliant
- Building strong relationships with operational leaders, clients, contractors and tenants
- Influencing behavioural and cultural change to embed greater ownership and accountability for safety.
About You
You’ll be an experienced, pragmatic and commercially minded HSE professional who knows how to influence without authority. With no direct reports, your success will come from your ability to build credibility, bring stakeholders on the journey and confidently challenge existing practices when required. You will be calm and collaborative in your approach while still being prepared to roll up your sleeves and take ownership.
