About the role
In this standalone role, you will be reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, providing strategic legal leadership across a diverse range of commercial, governance, regulatory and operational matters. Acting as a trusted adviser to the executive team and board, you will oversee legal risk, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, privacy, cyber security and employment law matters. You will lead complex negotiations, manage disputes, support governance frameworks, and partner with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver pragmatic, commercially focused legal solutions that enable informed decision-making and support organisational objectives.
Skills & experience
To be successful, you will be an experienced legal practitioner with a current Australian practising certificate and approximately 10-15 years' post admission gained in-house, private practice or a combination of both. You will bring strong expertise across commercial contracting, governance, privacy, cyber security, employment law and regulatory compliance, together with outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills. Experience advising charities or not-for-profit or other purpose-led organisations will be highly regarded.
