About the role
Reporting to a Senior Financial Accountant, this role is a key contributor within the Financial Accounting team and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and supporting statutory and regulatory compliance. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys understanding the detail behind the numbers and building strong working relationships across the business.
- Preparation of month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintenance and governance of the Fixed Assets Register
- Preparation of BAS and PAYG lodgements for review
- Assisting with the annual FBT return and ongoing FBT monitoring
- Supporting the annual audit process and responding to auditor queries
- Monitoring automated accounting interfaces within the ERP system
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and systems
- Supporting the broader finance team as required
About you
You are a technically strong accountant who genuinely enjoys understanding why things work the way they do, not just getting them done. You like digging into the detail, asking the right questions, and ensuring outcomes are accurate, compliant, and well thought through. Collaboration is second nature to you — you value being part of a team, share knowledge openly, and work well with stakeholders at different levels of the business. You take pride in your work, communicate clearly, and are comfortable working independently while knowing when to seek input.
- A degree in Accounting or Commerce
- CA or CPA qualification (or currently working towards completion)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including relevant standards and tax legislation
- Experience working with a large ERP system
- A proactive mindset with an interest in process improvement
- Sound Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
- A team-first attitude with the ability to build trusted relationships
- Experience in a multi-entity or operational environment will be viewed favourably.
