Finance Officer (3-Month Temp2perm) | Sydney | Hybrid WFH
We’re currently partnering with a well-regarded, government organisation based in Sydney to recruit an experienced Finance Officer on an initial 3-month temporary assignment with visibility to go permanent - ASAP start.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across end-to-end transactional finance within accounts payable and accounts receivable while also contributing to systems improvements and process enhancements.
The Role
Sitting within a collaborative finance team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across AP/AR and supporting broader finance activities.
- Managing end-to-end, high-volume Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Processing invoices, payments, and reconciliations
- Supporting banking, journals, and month-end activities
- Maintaining financial records, registers, and reporting data
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis
- Providing support across finance systems and process improvements
You’ll be working closely with stakeholders across the business, so strong communication and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running, ideally with experience in a small to mid-sized organisation where you’ve had ownership of AP processes.
- Proven experience across Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Exposure to month-end tasks and financial reporting support
- Experience working with TechnologyOne (highly desirable)
- Strong Excel and general systems capability
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance
- Experience working in environments undergoing system enhancements or module rollouts
