The Role
  • Brisbane based role within a growing employment, workplace relations and safety team
  • Advising clients on management of ill and injured workers
  • Providing critical incident response services
  • Defending prosecutions under work health and safety legislation nationally
  • Advising on and representing clients in employment related claims including unfair dismissal, adverse action, discrimination, sexual harassment, breach of contract and wage underpayment
  • Assisting with industrial relations matters including right of entry disputes
  • Advising on WHS compliance and incident management
  • Conducting workplace investigations
  • Assisting with and delivering training to clients on employment and safety topics
The Candidate
  • Admitted lawyer with up to 2yrs post admission experience
  • Hold a current Queensland practising certificate
  • Exposure to employment law, workplace relations, WHS, workers compensation or general litigation is desirable
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a practical and commercial mindset
  • Confident dealing with clients and working collaboratively across practice groups
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Clear, confident and plain language communication style
