The Role
Brisbane based role within a growing employment, workplace relations and safety team
Advising clients on management of ill and injured workers
Providing critical incident response services
Defending prosecutions under work health and safety legislation nationally
Advising on and representing clients in employment related claims including unfair dismissal, adverse action, discrimination, sexual harassment, breach of contract and wage underpayment
Assisting with industrial relations matters including right of entry disputes
Advising on WHS compliance and incident management
Conducting workplace investigations
Assisting with and delivering training to clients on employment and safety topics
The Candidate
Admitted lawyer with up to 2yrs post admission experience
Hold a current Queensland practising certificate
Exposure to employment law, workplace relations, WHS, workers compensation or general litigation is desirable
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a practical and commercial mindset
Confident dealing with clients and working collaboratively across practice groups
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
Highly organised with the ability to manage competing deadlines
Clear, confident and plain language communication style
