This is not your standard engineering leadership role.
We’re partnering with a design-led, boutique luxury hotel seeking a Director of Engineering to take full ownership of the property’s physical environment—ensuring every detail behind the scenes enables a seamless, high-end guest experience.
This is a hands-on leadership role where operational excellence meets strategic thinking—spanning maintenance, capital works, sustainability and team leadership.
The Opportunity
- You’ll lead the end-to-end engineering function across a premium hotel environment, including: Driving preventative maintenance programs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing & fire systems
- Leading capital works, refurbishments & upgrades from concept to completion
- Managing budgets, forecasting & contractor relationships
- Championing WHS compliance and safety culture across the property
- Partnering closely with operations to enhance guest experience through flawless facilities
- Embedding energy efficiency & sustainability initiatives across the asset
This role sits at the heart of the hotel’s performance—ensuring everything works exactly as it should, without guests ever noticing.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in hotel or resort engineering leadership (essential)
- Background in boutique or luxury environments highly regarded
- Strong knowledge across building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety)
- Experience leading renovations, capital projects & contractor management
- Confident in budget ownership, cost control & reporting
- A people-first leader who can mentor, motivate and elevate a team
- Deep understanding of WHS, compliance & safety frameworks
