About the Company

people2people are partnering with a well-established global logistics and freight forwarding organisation to recruit a Licensed Customs Broker for their Melbourne operation.

With a strong international presence and a reputation for investing in their people, this organisation continues to experience steady growth across its customs function. As a result of increasing volume and future growth plans, they are looking to expand their customs team with the addition of another broker.

The Opportunity

Working within a supportive customs team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end customs clearance process, ensuring all import and export declarations are completed accurately and in accordance with Australian customs regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparing and lodging import and export declarations

Tariff classification and customs compliance

Managing customs holds, inspections and quarantine requirements

Reviewing shipping and customs documentation

Liaising with freight forwarders, transport providers and regulatory authorities

Providing advice and guidance on customs requirements

Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance standards are met

Supporting continuous improvement within the customs function

You'll be joining a team that already has compiler and offshore support in place, allowing brokers to focus on value-added customs activities rather than excessive administrative tasks.

The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to develop their skills while working alongside highly experienced customs professionals in a collaborative environment that encourages learning, knowledge sharing and professional growth.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

A current Australian Customs Broker Licence

Experience within customs brokerage, customs clearance or freight forwarding

Strong knowledge of customs compliance and tariff classifications

Excellent attention to detail

The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Experience with CargoWise is highly regarded but not essential.
