A high‑performing, multi‑office law firm is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer to oversee operational excellence, compliance, people leadership, and commercial performance across the organisation. This newly created role forms a key part of the firm’s long‑term strategic plan.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will lead the firm’s day‑to-day operations, ensuring optimal workflow efficiency, strong compliance management, and a high‑quality client service experience. You will also manage revenue-related processes, and support pricing decisions. The role will have three direct reports and requires a capable operator who can balance strategic leadership with hands-on operational oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and optimise operations across multiple offices
Ensure KPIs, service standards, and operational targets are consistently achieved
Oversee compliance, risk management, and regulatory obligations for the firm
Manage revenue line oversight and contribute to pricing strategies
Maintain delegation-of-authority controls and manage board approval processes
Drive continuous improvement and implement scalable processes
Support the CEO with execution of strategic initiatives and organisational planning

About You
You will bring a strong background in operational leadership within a law firm or professional services environment. Experience in a regulated sector with complex workflows will also be highly regarded. You will demonstrate:

Senior operational leadership experience (COO, GM Operations, Director of Operations or similar)
Strong compliance, governance, and risk management capability
Ability to manage revenue performance, KPIs, and operational reporting
Experience preparing board papers and executive governance materials
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
A pragmatic, solutions‑focused style with strong attention to detail
