Join a large public sector organisation playing a key role in New Zealand’s anti-money laundering (AML) regulatory system. This team is responsible for delivering risk-based oversight and ensuring regulated entities meet their compliance obligations.
Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role
This is a senior technical leadership role focused on AML regulatory practice, where you’ll shape and uplift the quality of frontline regulatory work. Acting as the subject matter expert, you’ll provide guidance, review complex cases, and ensure activities are legally sound, risk-based, and aligned to best practice. You’ll also play a key role in building capability within a growing team, supporting consistency and confidence across AML compliance and enforcement activities. This is a high-impact position with visibility across the wider regulatory function.
Ngā kawenga | Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership across AML regulatory activities
  • Review and validate complex AML cases and regulatory outputs
  • Ensure regulatory decisions are robust, consistent, and legally sound
  • Coach and mentor team members to build AML capability and confidence
  • Develop and enhance AML frameworks, tools, and processes
  • Partner with operational leaders to support effective AML interventions
  • Monitor quality and identify opportunities to strengthen AML practice
  • Support engagement with stakeholders on AML regulatory matters

  • Strong technical capability in regulatory or compliance frameworks

  • Understanding of risk-based regulatory or AML approaches
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
