About the role
The Accountant is responsible for managing key financial functions within the firm's Finance department, including management accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, tax compliance, trust account management and audit coordination.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of monthly financial results, budgets and forecasts, providing insightful analysis to support decision making
- Manage key financial accounting and compliance obligations, including annual reporting, audit, tax reconciliations, BAS and FBT
- Oversee trust and CMA accounting, ensuring transactions, reporting and compliance requirements are completed accurately and on time
- Support effective working capital management, including WIP, debtors, partner capital and cash flow targets
- Lead, coach and develop members of the Finance team while building strong relationships with partners and stakeholders across the firm
- Drive process improvement, innovation and technology initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Finance operations and reporting.
Skills & experience
- CA or CPA qualified finance professional
- Strong technical accounting capability and experience in a professional services environment
- Ability to operate at both a strategic and hands-on level
- Sound commercial judgement and exceptional attention to detail.
