Transforming your business towards a sustainable future

Transforming your business towards a sustainable future
MARK: We are now joined by Liam, the consultant from our Perth office. Liam, who's a Kiwi from the South Island, often engages in rugby discussions. Now, Liam, today's conversation about a sustainable future—should we frame it in a rugby context for the Wallabies, or is there another approach?

LIAM: Well, I'm open to either direction. It depends on how close you want to get to the topic.

MARK: Fantastic. Moving on, let's talk about businesses transitioning to a more sustainable future. People to People has partnered with Carbon Invoice and achieved carbon neutrality. What tips do you have for businesses making this move?

LIAM: Transforming your business towards sustainability offers multiple benefits beyond profitability. It's not just an environmental endeavor; it's a strategic move that can reshape your business for long-term success. This goes beyond cost savings, enhancing brand reputation, regulatory compliance, and accessing new markets.

MARK: Indeed, the advantages are diverse. Committing to sustainable practices not only contributes to a healthier planet but positions the business for success in a socially conscious marketplace. Have you noticed how purpose and an organization's stance on sustainability affect talent engagement?

LIAM: Absolutely. I'd say it was a significant factor in my choice of where to work. Aligning sustainability goals with long-term values, including short-term objectives like reducing emissions and minimizing waste, is crucial. Results won't happen overnight, so outlining a plan for the foreseeable future is vital.

MARK: True, and the trend of considering an employer's purpose and sustainability stance is more crucial than ever. Aligning sustainability goals with long-term values is smart. If someone wants to discuss this or explore opportunities, how can they reach out to you?

LIAM: Feel free to call me anytime, and my email is available too. You can also find me on LinkedIn, always active there. Whether it's about supply chain and logistics or any other inquiries, I'm here to help. And for fellow Wallabies supporters, a quick email or message to me would definitely be appreciated.

MARK: Excellent. Thanks for joining us today, Liam. Looking forward to having you again.
