Job seeker trends.
Liz: Hello, everyone! My name is Liz Punchin, and I am the director and acting branch manager with People-to-People Recruitment Melbourne. It's my pleasure to be hosting our People-to-People live today. We're coming to you via LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube.

Today, we are going to go through the employment stats of the week. Also, I'll be sharing with you some hot jobs in Australia, as well as New Zealand and the UK. Then, I'll be joined by one of my fellow Melbourne colleagues, Jess Hickey. She'll be taking us through some of the job trends in 2023.

Jess: Hi, this is Jess Hickey. I'm a senior consultant specializing in permanent supply chain and operations recruitment.

Liz: Jess, welcome! How's your morning going?

Jess: Not too bad. It's actually become a bit of a stunner in Melbourne, so that's nice for a Friday.

Liz: Absolutely. So, please share with us some of the top trends in 2023.

Jess: Certainly. One interesting sentiment from our 2023 market trends report is the discussion around internal movement. We found that 66% of potential candidates would stay longer in a business if the process of moving roles internally was easier or part of the advocacy provided by their managers.

Liz: That's a significant insight. How are you seeing this trend play out in the Melbourne market?

Jess: We're experiencing a trend called Talent hoarding, where managers keep their high performers to themselves. It's essential for candidates and clients to be aware of this and ensure that internal opportunities are available and explored before considering an external move.

Liz: That's a valuable perspective. Thank you for sharing, Jess. If our viewers want to connect with you, how can they do that?

Jess: You can connect with me through the details on your screen or reach out on LinkedIn. I'm also available by phone at zero three nine zero nine eight seven four three nine.

Liz: Fantastic! Thanks for joining us today, Jess. Have a great weekend.
