The work-from-home debate

The work-from-home debate
Mark Smith: There are lots of sports going on at the moment – if it's not the Tour de France, it's the ashes, and then there's the Matildas. There's just too much going on, and let's not even talk about what happened with the Matildas last night. So instead, we're going to talk all things jobs and employment throughout Australia. My name is Mark Smith, I'm Group Managing Director of People2People in Australia and the UK and Frog Recruitment in New Zealand, and this is P2P Live.

Mark Smith: We're joined today by Juma, one of our senior recruitment consultants. Welcome, Juma.

Juma: Thank you, Mark. Pleasure to be here.

Mark Smith: Fantastic. So, Juma, tell us about the hot jobs in Australia this week.

Juma: Well, the first one is a business analyst position based in Sydney, paying $65 an hour. It involves overseeing the smooth data migration from a legacy system to a new cloud-based system. The second opportunity is in South Australia, in Adelaide, for a payroll professional. The role includes responsibilities for full payroll, adjustments, reconciliations, terminations, and new hires.

Mark Smith: Great opportunities there. Now, let's talk about an exciting opportunity in the UK for a Communications Manager based in London, paying £45,000 to £59,000 per annum. This role involves developing comprehensive communication plans and managing compelling content on various platforms.

Mark Smith: Finally, we have an opportunity in New Zealand. Kirsty, a team leader at Frog Recruitment, shared details about a healthcare company looking for someone to assist with a system implementation project. The role is temporary for about three to four months, with the possibility of extension.

Mark Smith: That's fantastic. Thanks for sharing those opportunities, Juma. Now, let's shift gears a bit. Juma, what are your thoughts on the current job market trends?

Juma: Well, based on our Twitter poll results, 60% of respondents in Australia are open to job opportunities or actively looking. This shows a significant portion of the workforce is actively seeking new opportunities.

Mark Smith: Absolutely. It's always interesting to see the pulse of the job market. Juma, thank you for joining us today and sharing those insights.

Juma: My pleasure, Mark.

Mark Smith: That's all for this week on P2P Live. Thank you for tuning in. Have a great weekend, and we'll see you next time.
