Take the next step of your career in Brisbane

Take the next step of your career in Brisbane
Mark Smith: Now, for those people watching who don't know, I was a resident of Brisbane in the late '90s, and it's one of my favorite cities in Australia. So, what we thought we'd do today is talk to Renagi from our Brisbane team, and he's going to talk to us all about securing a job in Brisbane. Renagi, good afternoon. How are things?

Renagi: Good afternoon, Mark. Great, thank you.

Mark Smith: Is it afternoon in Queensland?

Renagi: No, it's not. Only 11 in Queensland, so not really.

Mark: That's very confusing. But tell us more about this webinar.

[About the Webinar]

Renagi: Yeah, thanks, Ragi. I'm really excited to talk about this. We have a new webinar coming up next week, which is talking about our latest career steps in Brisbane. Since 2020, our teams have interviewed around 115,000 job seekers. From this data, we produce our annual employment and salary trends market report, which reveals that 23% of the workforce is passively looking for their next job opportunity in 2023. With such a high percentage of people actively looking for a new role, it's more important than ever for people to stand out for their next potential employers. In this one-hour webinar, we'll cover a range of things, including the most common challenges for job seekers, how to overcome them, and what to do to take your next step in your career. There will also be information on the current state of the Brisbane market, how to create a resume with impact, preparing for your next job interview, managing counteroffers, and resignation management. And then, we'll have an interactive question and answer session at the very end.

Mark: That sounds really good. So, the P2P live is cross Australia, and I know that the net migration into Queensland, into Brisbane in the Southeast, is always a net positive. People are trying to get into Queensland. Do you think the webinar will help people who are considering a move to Brisbane?

[Considering a Move to Brisbane]

Renagi: Absolutely. It will definitely help clear the air, make things a little bit more understandable. People will understand the economy a little bit more and work out what kind of steps they need to take to be able to adjust and move into the Brisbane market.

Mark Smith: You think that applying for jobs is ubiquitous, that it's the same everywhere, but it's not really. There are unique things that you need to consider for Queensland. How is the market in Brisbane right now?

[Renagi's Insights on the Brisbane Market]

Renagi: Look, it's good at the moment. Coming into the tail end of the year, the silly season starts ramping up a little bit. Some areas do tend to back off, but we're definitely seeing a little bit more movement, especially coming into the silly season.

Mark Smith: So, Renagi's specialization is in supply chain, and there's a lot of movement of stock and warehouse movements right now. Even some of our retail clients are gearing up for the end-of-October sales. You're the sort that would be buying lots of products online in these sales, wouldn't you?

Renagi: Yes, not much hair product, I can say that. But I definitely do a little bit of buying online, that's for sure.
