Workers Compensation Specialist

Your duties & responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Manage all aspects of Pre-Injury Duty, Medical Only and Job Detached worker's compensation claims
  • Ensure the recording and processing of all workers compensation notifications and claims for employees and forward correct documentation to the Treasury Managed Fund within legislative time frames
  • Complete notification to relevant parties on receipt of a Lost Time Injury
  • Provide advice and direction to managers and employees on issues associated with worker's compensation claims to ensure continuous effective service delivery and a performance based, innovative, responsive and accountable customer focused work culture
  • Provide operational expertise and advice in the management of worker's compensation claims within the current legislative framework
  • Coordinate and monitor litigated matters associated with workers compensation and ensure all relevant documentation is provided to relevant parties within required time frames
  • Participate in claims review meetings for development of appropriate strategies and ensure completion of agreed follow up actions
  • Develop, maintain and archive workers compensation file and records utilising effective, efficient and confidential document control methodologies
  • Manage claim duration time frames in accordance with current workers compensation requirements
  • Build effective business partnership through engagement with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure performance supports the achievement of strategic and operational goals, with a particular focus on achieving performance in accordance with the Workforce Performance Scorecard and the Workforce strategic directions,
  • Ensure organisation compliance with relevant policies, procedures, legislation and regulations, particularly in the area of worker's compensation and injury management


To be considered for this opportunity you should have:

  • Ideally has significant worker's compensation claims management knowledge
  • Ideally has worked within a Government Department
  • Ability to create and maintain a highly professional, performance based, innovative, responsive and accountable customer service culture
  • Ability to drive strategies and manage outcomes to achieve the expected performance, benefits and value from shared services
  • Ability to maintain relationships with a number of Stakeholders both internal and external
  • Highly organised
