Our client are an established Global Mid-Tier Law Firm located in prestigious offices in Melbourne CBD. Due to their continued success and growth there is an opportunity for an experienced Trust Officer to join their existing team until March 2018. An immediate start is required, the contract will commence Tuesday 18th April. As a Trust Officer you will be responsible for the firms Controlled Monies and Trust Account for the Melbourne Office. The key function of this role is to ensure efficient cashflow for the firm and the availability of funds. Responsibilities will include:
- Client maintenance
- Processing trust bank statements and trust bank reconciliations
- Preparation of trust account cheques and processing of Trust to Office transfers
- Receipting of trust funds and cheques
- Opening, closing and withdrawing from investment accounts
- Trust reporting
- Assisting with trust audits and clearance of unallocated funds
- Responding to general queries
The successful candidate will have previous trust experience in a professional services environment, preference will be given to applicants who have worked in the legal industry. You will have a solid understanding of trust accounts and the relative Victorian rules and regulations. Experience using CMS, Expert or Elite is desirable but not essential. The ability to prioritise tasks and meet strict deadlines is essential. You will be required to liaise with senior stakeholders so clear and concise verbal and written communication skills are required.
