An excellent opportunity to join a vital Government body for 6 months as their Manager for Procurement in the professional services and labour hire division. You will need to have hands on experience and recent involvement with end to end procurement in the construction and/or engineering, ideally in government to support compliance with procurement policies.
Your role as Manager Procurement leads a small team and collaborates widely with colleagues across the all construction projects in the delivery of procure and pay functions. This includes strategic planning, development, sourcing, including preparation of tender documentation and contracts, evaluation plans and reports. You will also assess procurement project management and risk management, to meet business needs.
As an expert in your field, you will also provide specialist advice, administration, recommendations, reporting and support to the business and ensure compliance with whole of Government and Department procurement policies, procedures and guidelines. For this reason, you must demonstrate strong verbal and written skills and the ability to deal effectively at all levels. Other skills required are:
- Capacity to operate both independently to produce consistently high quality work.
- Ability to use initiative and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, and judgement
- Experience in tendering of contracts ideally within a construction or engineering environment
- Experience managing cross functional teams on procurement projects/programs
- Superior strategic thinking, analytic and problem solving skills.
