people2people are pleased to announce that we have been retained by a leading Global freight forwarder as they look for their next Branch Manager. This is a great opportunity for the new manager to lead a high performing team, ensuring delivery of a superior level of service for their customer base. This position will manage and oversee the Import, Export, Courier, Ocean, Warehouse and Transport teams and also oversee functional reports with the Sales team.
Reporting to the Operations VP, the Branch Manager will be responsible but not limited to:
Effective leadership and management of a team of 15 operations and warehouse staff to achieve efficient and profitable outcomes
Conduct team’s performance related reviews
Monitor all warehouse operations to ensure timely flow of all inbound and outbound cargo.
Provide 'hands-on' assistance and support to the team as required
Maintain a high priority of security and safety for the employees, visitors, property, freight and operations.
Conduct weekly safety inspections, report on any accidents / incidents and complete monthly safety reports
Conduct regular customer visits to nurture and develop existing relationships as well as gain new business
Setting and managing budgets in order to meet revenue and profit targets
The Ideal Candidate
To be considered for the role of Branch Manager, will you need to demonstrate the following:
Experience working in airfreight, freight forwarding, import and/ or export
Proven experience managing operations and warehouse staff, ability to develop and coach the team and provide a culture of learning and development
Significant hands-on operational experience is essential with sound knowledge in aircraft and equipment specifications
Demonstrated knowledge of Customs and AQIS regulations and requirements
Prior experience setting and managing a budget is desirable but not essential
Current drivers licence and be willing to obtain a police and security check
