Procurement and Contracts Officer

An opportunity is available for a Procurement and Contract Officer to join a leading telecommunication brand. You will support the setup of a shared services procurement functions and be accountable for smooth functioning of the procurement system with timely actioning the RFP and RFQ process.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchasing and Sourcing
  • Coordinating and maintaining automated procurement systems 
  • Performing procurement system administration and reporting
  • Understanding existing preferred supplier relationships for certain spend categories and help drive spend to these suppliers
Supplier Management
  • Maintaining the vendor database including, approval paths, system security and all data integrity
  • Analysing supplier performance through developing and using rating system across all spend categories
  • Helping the procurement team to review and approve vendors annually for in-activation; approving / rejecting
  • Managing the on-boarding of new vendors
  • Maintaining records of all contractual obligations with suppliers
Process Management
  • Seeking innovative solutions for the procurement process; developing actions and implementing plans along with participating in cross-functional teams
  • Investigating and aiding in the resolution of invoice issues related to purchases

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Human Resource or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a procurement environment across a multi divisional matrix organisation
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills enabling effective communication with all levels of management
  • Self-motivated with great follow-up skills and be able to work independently
  • Detailed understanding of the Procurement Value Chain
