Policy Officer

An exciting opportunity to play a major role in the development of Aboriginal health programs. We are looking for an experienced Strategic Planning Officer to ensure that the strategic goals are met to improve the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health framework.
You will be responsible for developing startegic plans on how to action and navigate the policy frameworks around closing the gap in health outcomes for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Main Responsibilities
- Work with the leadership team to set the organisations policy.
- Work in partnership with the key stakeholders to develop solutions to barriers to policy change.
- Research, analyse and develop related health policy.
- Ensure ongoing alignment with the health authority’s vison, purpose and strategy.
About You
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications and related experience in Policy writing.
- High level verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Outstanding policy, processing and planning skills.
- Experience in health policy, advocacy or education related roles desirable.
- Experience and an understanding of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities desirable.
